There are several groups at Faith which emphasize service — service to God, to the congregation, and to our fellow human beings. Use your talents and abilities — put your faith to work!! For names and phone numbers of current contact people, please call the church office, 925-685-7353.
This service group for adults prays regularly for others as requested. Contact is by email and telephone.
Late teen through adults. (Ability to read music is helpful but not required.) Meets Sunday mornings at 10:30am in the Bible Study Room off the side of the Fellowship Hall.
Late teen through adults. Musicians and singers are always needed. (Ability to read music is required.) Meets Sunday mornings at 8am in the Sanctuary before service starts.
Prepares the chancel of the church for worship. This group is responsible for sanctuary decorations, flowers, wedding and funeral arrangements, and the preparation and care for the vessels used in worship, etc.
Service group for Confirmation Class members and confirmed high school youth. Acolytes assist in the conducting of worship services: lighting candles, leading processions, receiving offerings, preparing communion, etc. Training is provided.
Service group for late teens through adults. Ushers assist at worship services: Post hymns, greet worshippers, answer questions, handle emergencies, distribute bulletins, gather the offering, etc.
Service group for adults. Property maintenance as needed: painting, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, gardening, etc. This group meets about once a month on Saturday morning and welcomes drop-ins. Watch for announcements in the Sunday Flyer and the monthly newsletter.
Service opportunities for all ages, as needed. Collate, fold, staple, insert, type, file, etc. To volunteer, contact the Church Office at 925-685-7353.
Retirees (male) who gather in the church kitchen on Wednesday mornings for coffee and conversation – and handle some maintenance tasks around the property.
